At some point, Kirby allies himself with a flying, cyan, rodent-like creature, before they are attacked by a gorilla-like member of the Beast Corps, leading to Kirby doing battle in order to rescue several Waddle Dees.
Kirby awakens on a beach of an unknown “new world” to find himself in a strange and mysterious land of the past, where civilization and nature have become one. The land is inhabited by the “Beast Corps”, a group of beast-like foes who seem to have a vendetta against Kirby. The Beast Corps are also shown to have kidnapped numerous Waddle Dees in golden cages, leaving it up to Kirby to save them.
